William Ralph Roller of Unionville, age 79, our hardworking, quiet, and kind brother and uncle went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Monday, December 16, 2019, at McLaren Bay Region. Bill was born in Tuscola County on December 14, 1940, the son of the late Ralph and Ida (Krull) Roller. He was a 1958 graduate of Unionville High School and went on to work for Brown Hoist in Bay City and Caro Plastics. Bill’s true love was farming, and he took great pride in his work on the family farm. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville and enjoyed Michigan State sports, along with the Detroit Tigers and Lions. A gentle and humble man, Bill would do anything, for anyone. He will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come.
Bill is survived by his three siblings: Charlie (Deb) Roller, Jim (Vickie) Roller, Kristine (Tom) Koch; brother-in-law, David Batchelor; along with his nieces, nephews, and their families: David C. Batchelor, Diane (Bill) Klingler, Mason Roller, Kendra Roller, Nathan (Lauren) Roller, Megan Roller (Kyle Grote), Tara (Troy) Vermeesch, and Steve (Vanessa) Koch. In addition to his parents, Bill was welcomed home to heaven by his sister, Connie Batchelor.
Bill’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Friday, December 20, 2019, from 10 a.m. until Bill’s 11 a.m. Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Rev. Steve Stolarczyk will officiate with a reception to follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s. Interment will then follow in Demorest Cemetery, Akron. Memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be directed to the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
