Mary Monica Parsell, 88, of Caro passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 under hospice care at her son Mark’s home in Coldwater.
In following Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned. The family will have a private burial at Almer Cemetery in Caro at a later date. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home of Coldwater.
Mary was born September 12, 1930 in Hamtramck to Stanley and Mary (Terepka) Faszcza . She married Norman Parsell in Bay City in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1997. Mary was a hardworking woman, spending many years at the State Home as a housekeeper, retiring in 1988.
Over the years, Mary attended Caro United Methodist Church. She had many interests including needlepoint & crochet work, arts & crafts, and China painting. Mary was an avid reader, who also liked to take trips to the casino to play games and meet her friends. She will be remembered for being a private and strong-willed woman as well as being a good person. Her true joy in life was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Parsell is survived by her children Gene (Pearl) Parsell of Pigeon, MI, John (Caroline) Parsell of Fayetteville, GA, Timothy Parsell of Caro, Sidney (Beth)Parsell of Caro, Debra (Ron Watson) Parsell of Westminster, CO, and Mark (Denise) Parsell of Coldwater; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; her niece Patricia (Joe) Navyac and nephews, Robert (Bev) Jenceleski and Thomas (Dixie) Jenceleski. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years Norman Parsell; her daughter Susan Miller; her grandson; her 1 brother and 3 sisters.
