Edmund Stanley Klawender, age 80 of Kingston, MI, passed away Tuesday,
August 6, 2019 with family by his side at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital in Marlette, MI.
He was born December 4, 1938 in Hamtramck, MI son of the late Edmund and Mary (Maluchnik) Klawender. Edmund graduated from East Detroit High School with the Class of 1957. He married Sharon Jackson on August 29, 1959 in East Detroit, MI and they raised six children. Edmund proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Twin Pines Milk delivery man prior to retiring from Lombardi Foods. Edmund was a member of Holy Family Parish St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the NRA. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, gardening and wine making.
Edmund is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Klawender; his children, Colleen (Douglas) Quinn, Michelle Plunkett, Annette (Sam) Izzo, Jennifer Klawender and Edmund (Bobbie) Klawender; son-in-law, Marty Morse; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three siblings, Evelyn Kissell, Geraldine (Dave) Overholser and Thomas Klawender; brother-in-law, Doug Cooper; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Morse November 3, 2002; two siblings, Robert (Jackie) Klawender and Kathleen Cooper; and brother-in-law, Robert Kissell.
The family will receive visitors from 3:30 – 8 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at Marsh Funeral Chapel – Marlette with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. Visitation from 10 AM until time of the service Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Family Parish St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Family Parish St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette with Father Steve Blaxton officiating. Military Honors will be conducted immediately following the Mass by Marlette VFW Post #4837 and the Marine Honor Guard.
Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
