It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Lou DuBois announces her unexpected passing, Friday April 5, 2019, at the age of 88. Mary Lou will be lovingly remembered by her husband James DuBois who shared a happy and healthy marriage of 68 years. They shared two awesome and caring sons, Leads (Kay) DuBois and Randy (Cathy) DuBois and a beautiful daughter, Suzette (Scott) Schmalzried who brought her so much joy. Eight wonderful grandchildren: Jason (Andrea) DuBois, Jacquelyn (Keven) Jobson, Heather DuBois, Shannon DuBois, Sadie DuBois, Jacob (Chelsea) Schmalzried, Joshua Schmalzried and Jack Schmalzried. Two great-granddaughters, Madison DuBois and Sage Schmalzried. All of whom were the light of her life. Many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lavern and Golda Ostrander and siblings: Doris Gregory, Wanda Straw, Royden (Bud) Ostrander, Evy Barber and Emy Gilbert.
She truly cherished her family and friends. Every friend soon became family with her.
A memorial service in Mary Lou’s honor will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Vassar. The Rev. Doug Abel officiating. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Vassar.
