Paul Jay Stoick, of Gallatin, Tennessee, formerly of Marlette, age 65, passed away on September 11, 2018 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Paul was born June 5, 1953 in Saginaw, son of Frank and Jean (Schlicht) Stoick. He grew up in Vassar and moved to Marlette in his teen years. Paul graduated from Marlette High School with the Class of 1971 and then went to college at Mott College, Flint. He was a car hauling truck driver for many years. Paul retired from his dream job hauling Corvettes out of Bowling Green, Kentucky just last year. He enjoyed spending time with family at reunions and Christmas, fishing off his houseboat or just grilling and watching sports on TV with a group of friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristie (Patrick) Sullivan of Ann Arbor; granddaughter, Miriam Sullivan of Ann Arbor; siblings, Jeannie (Carl) Sams of Milford, Frank “Buck” (Sharol) Stoick, Robert “Bob” (Jeannie) Stoick and Nancy Higgins all of Marlette; adopted family, Myron (Deb) Noyce; their sons, Steve and Scott; and their grandchildren, Trent and Tailor; several nieces and nephews; and friends too numerous to mention.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jean Stoick.
The family received friends from 2-8 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at St. Elizabeth Parish Hall.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Parish Hall in Marlette with Pastor David Sutton officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar.
