DISTRICT COURT

Jason Dean Irons, 49, of Caro, is charged with failure to comply with the sex offenders registration act and failing to pay sex offender registration fee. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Cody Wayne Collier, 21, of Fairgrove, is charged with carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, possessing a firearm while committing a felony, domestic violence and possession of firearms while under the influence. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

Jason Arthur Frank, 38, of Clio, is charged with operating while intoxicated (third offense), operating with a high blood-alcohol content and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

Jasmine Michelle Smeaton, 18, of Millington, is charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

Lawrence Alberts Jr., 21, of Deford, is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, interfering with electronic communications, unlawful imprisonment, attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct and domestic violence. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 17

Nicholas Larry Klein, 29, of Reese, is charged with malicious destruction of personal property of $20,000 or more and reckless driving. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

Haydin Thomas Johnson, 17, of Vassar, is charged with breaking and entering a building with intent, unlawful driving away in a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit unlawful driving away in a motor vehicle, larceny in a building and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Mark Stanley Jacobs, 48, of Fostoria, is charged with delivery/manufacture of marijuana and possession of marijuana/synthetic equivalents. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Christopher Robert Graves, 35, of Mayville, is charged with larceny in a building. A preliminary exam is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 24.

CIRCUIT COURT

Robert Dennis Proctor, 39, Reese, was sentenced to two years to seven-and-a-half years in prison for aggravated stalking and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. He was given credit for 348 days served and was ordered to pay $516 in costs and assessments.

Daniel Steven Haney, 18, of Bay City, was sentenced to two years to five years in prison for four counts of third-degree fleeing a police officer, four counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, operating while intoxicated and unlawfully driving away a motor vehicle. He was ordered to pay $1,550 in costs and assessments and $7,298 in restitution.

Dennis Ryan Robstead, 27, of Vassar, pleaded no contest to larceny in a building, false report of a felony, operating while license suspended, reckless driving and breaking and entering a building with intent. A sentencing date will be set.

LaDonna Sue Desimpelaere, 53, of Unionville, was sentenced to 365 days in jail with credit for three days served for two counts of uttering and publishing, two counts of forgery and one count of embezzlement of more than $200 but less than $1,000 from a nonprofit or charity. She is to be placed on five years of probation upon release and was ordered to pay $1,280 in costs and assessments and $70,014 in restitution.

Merry Christina Smith, 48, of Millington, was sentenced to 180 days in jail – deferred – with credit for one day serves for possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic (second offense). She is to be placed on three years of probation upon release and was ordered to pay $1,008 in costs and assessments.

Nicholas John Stratton, 36, of Caro, pleaded guilty to two counts of operating while intoxicated with an occupant less than 16 years old (second offense). A sentencing date will be set.

John Schraeder Borcherding Jr., 41, of Millington, pleaded guilty to operating with the presence of a controlled substance (third offense). A sentencing date will be set.

Joseph William Szarapski, 53, of Cass City, pleaded guilty to operating with a high blood-alcohol content (third offense). A sentencing date will be set.

Rachel Marie Bierlein, 38, of Reese, pleaded no contest to carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. A sentencing date will be set.

Allison Kay Schmidt, 44, of Saginaw, pleaded no contest to second-degree criminal sexual conduct and five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. A sentencing date will be set.

Aaron Ray Loesel, 29, of Vassar, pleaded no contest to attempted breaking and entering with intent. A sentencing date will be set.

Dennis Lee Jones, 38, of Mayville, pleaded no contest to failing to comply with the sex offender registration act. A sentencing date will be set.

Quinnton Jazquez Phipps, 24, of Saginaw, was sentenced to four to 15 years in prison with credit for 232 days served for third-degree criminal sexual conduct (force or coercion). He was ordered to pay $255 in costs and assessments.
