David Papkey of Frankenmuth, formerly of Caro, age 75, passed away at his residence on Friday, August 4, 2017. David was born March 12, 1942 in Ferndale, to the late Charles and Alverna (Sattleberg) Papkey. Throughout his work career, he was employed primarily as a line person at Active Industries, as well as doing carpentry with stints driving truck and custodial work. David enjoyed the out of doors, fishing, camping, watching loons on the pond, as well as woodworking and cars.
He is survived by his children, Dick and Brenda Papkey, Dan and Deb Papkey, Valarie and Edward Wardle and Jonathon and Pam Ramirez; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Papkey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Magdalen Papkey, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ramirez; a brother, Norman Papkey; and a sister, Shirley Brown.
Family and friends gathered for a celebration of David’s life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Rev. Tim Lang officiated.
