For the third year in a row, the Michigan Thumb Fastpitch Travel League will be hosting a triple-header of games on July 12 to recognize contributions from area fastpitch teams and individuals in the spirit of friendly competition.
The event will be held at Auburn Park, starting at 6 p.m. with a short ceremony to recognize past and present individual and group contributions to mid-Michigan fastpitch softball over the years.
Following that, three men’s fastpitch games will be played, with two games scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and a third to follow at 8:30 p.m. The games will be played between current teams in the Michigan Thumb Fastpitch Travel League.
During the event, hot dogs will be available for purchase, while soft drinks will be complimentary.
Donations from the event will go towards the Friends of Youth Fastpitch committee to aid youth softball teams for players aged 12 to 18 in covering expenses related to league entry, national tournament entry fees, and other various team expenses.
One such tournament, the Friends of Youth Fastpitch, will help cover entry expenses for is the International Softball Congress Youth Tournament at Saginaw’s Hoyt Park July 21-23, as well as the North American Fastpitch Association Youth tournament in Vassar from July 29-30.
If you plan to attend the July 12 event in Auburn, or for more information, it is requested that you contact one of the members of the Thumb Fastpitch League/Friends of Youth Fastpitch Committee as listed below.
