Wallace Quinn Blackmer of Mayville, age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility, in Sandusky.
A service of Remembrance will be held at noon on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Avram Funeral Home in Mayville with Pastor Sam Reece officiating. Military Honors will be conducted following the service by the Mayville/Vassar VFW Post 10884 and American Legion Post 181 of Mayville.
The Family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Avram Funeral Home.

Wallace was born November 6, 1927 in Clifford, son of the late Erie and Laura (Alyea) Blackmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Wallace married Bernadine Weiler July 17, 1948 in Hazel Park. He retired from the Sargent Sand Company. Wallace loved fishing, hunting, bowling and farming. He was a charter member of the Mayville Eagles and a past president of the Mayville Eagles Club.
Wallace is survived by two sons, Wally (Dana) of Fostoria and Gary of Mayville; one daughter, Diana Robinson of Mayville; one brother, Sheldon Blackmer of Juniata; three sisters, Phoebe Spencer of Cass City, Ernestine (Stanley) Spencer of Mayville and Vicki (Danny) Thornton of Lapeer; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine in 2004; two brothers; and three sisters.
