The Tuscola County Community Foundation has released the list of organizations and projects to receive monies through its most recent round of funding.
The total amount awarded this fall through the Tuscola County Community Foundation was more than $135,000.
The figure includes about $94,000 of grants from the William and Ruth Janks Fund, the Claude and Etta Andrews Fund and the Future Youth Involvement Fund, said Ken Micklash, executive director for the last 10 years. (See graphic below for list of awardees)
The Caro-based Tuscola County Community Foundation (TCCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The history of TCCF as an “official” organization dates to November 1996, when a group of community-minded folks from Caro and Cass City met to figure out what it would take to set up a community foundation.
Dick Ransford was in the group, along with Susan Walker, Robert Tuckey, Sue Ransford, Harry Schubel, Richard Donahue, Linda Marshall, James White, and Judge Richard Kern.
Today, the organization has about $10.5 million in assets and has awarded more than $3.5 million to local organizations.
The next round of grants will be awarded in the spring.
Micklash said TCCF will announce how much funding will be available in February and the deadline to apply for a grant through TCCF is March 1.
Interested parties should contact the organization via email at tccf534@centurytel.net or by calling 989-673-8223.
