Caro High School’s Drama club will present their fall production of “Putting on Heir$” tonight and tomorrow.
Written by Michael Jacot, this production described as a “hilarious farce” will be performed in the Black Box Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
Ernestine Webb, played by Angela Lemmon, is overwhelmed by the day-to-day pressures of running the $77 million dollar Webb fortune. When her slightly senile friend Miss Pomfrey (Savannah Glaser) visits bemoaning the loss of her beloved gerbil, it is mistakenly thought that Ernestine has passed on. To see how much they’ve inherited, her greedy children (Faith Dennis, Kyle Carter, Jacob Wilson, and Isaac Seeley) fall all over each other in an attempt to find their mother’s will and even try to make up one of their own. Faithful Fenwick, the butler played by Hal Hudson, realizes what is going on and adds his own antics for fun. Other actors including Emma Joslyn, Kayla Carter, Laken Kula, Maddie Hardenburgh, Elijah Dietzel, McKenna Geiger, Makenna Ball, and Eman Copeland add to the wackiness of the production.
Technical and backstage support is provided by Nyla Nelson, Bryanna Funsch, Cheyenne Popp, and Jasmyn McCrumb. The play is directed by Ms. Janet Swarthout.
Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on November 17 & 18 in the CHS Black Box Theatre. Admission is $5.00 and tickets will be sold at the door.
