The driver of an 18-wheeler lost control and overturned on its side in front of Clark gas station on Mertz road about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Thousands of corn kernels poured out of the trailer on the side of the toad. The driver, who works for Phillips Farm in Marlette, said he was traveling toward POET Biorefining, the ethanol plant in Caro, from Marlette via M-46. He added that he felt a loss of air pressure and tried to pull over in the gas station before he lost control of the trailer. The driver was not injured.
