CARO — Three Caro businesses are teaming up to serve military veterans, because they served us first.

And, as “thank you”s go, you could do a lot worse than a free meal at Pizza Hut.

This Memorial Day weekend, Saturday through Monday, area veterans are invited to enjoy a free meal at the Caro Pizza Hut, 815 South State
Street in Caro. The offer is a combined effort between Caro Pizza Hut, SRS Pharmacy Systems and Caro MotorSports, and extends to military
veterans, as well as their spouses and parents.

This will be the third time Caro Pizza Hut has given away free meals, including a previous Vets Eat FREE weekend a couple years ago and a free meal giveaway for veterans, first responders and emergency medical technicians.

Pizza Hut manager Louise Hodges said that about 190 people took advantage of the previous Vets Eat FREE offer and close to 300 diners
said “yes” to a free meal. Vouchers are available at Caro MotorSports, a motorcycle repair and service center at 1660 East Caro Road (M-81) northeast of Caro across the road from the Lighthouse. Vouchers aren’t necessary for the event, but veterans are encouraged to drop by Caro MotorSports to pick one up
and say hello to manager Dean Burkel.

“Our main thing is service out here,” Burkel said. “We don’t sell anything except the oils, filters, that type of stuff, but mainly our
business is service out here.”

Caro MotorSports recently added a Dynojet dynamometer, which Burkel says the business uses to “build horsepower” and wake the neighbors up.

“We do a ton of motor work, we do a lot of work on Harley Davidsons,” Burkel said. “Our dyno service is really coming along; we just added that in October.”

For information about the Vets Eat FREE event, call the Caro Pizza Hut at 673-4548 or Caro MotorSports at 673-8500. Caro MotorSports is open 9
a.m. to 6 p.m. and also can be found on Facebook.
