CARO — A Caro man allegedly led police on a chase Tuesday evening through Caro after failing to stop on Millwood Street.
Johnathan Richard Saunders, 27 of Caro, was arrested around 11 p.m. Tuesday evening after police caught up with the suspect.
According to Sgt. Kathy Taylor of the Michigan State Police Caro post, the chase ended at the Pat Curtis dealership at the corner of M-81 and M-24 where the suspect abandoned his car and took off on foot.
“It ended up in a foot chase, but with the help of the sheriff’s department and the Caro Police Department we ended up finding him shortly after,” Taylor said.
Saunders was charged with failure to signal, police officer assaulting/resisting/obstructing causing injury, police officer assaulting/resisting/obstructing and driving with a suspended license.
The Michigan State Police Caro Post was assisted by the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department and the Caro Police Department.
