MICHIGAN — For six years Jeff Ford tracked, monitored and cared about a lone wolverine that just showed up in the Thumb area after being extinct from the state for well over 100 years.
His “Pretty Girl,” which is the pet name he gave the wolverine, will be leaving Sanilac County to be displayed for two weeks in Huron County.
The next exhibit will start with a special ceremony 1 p.m.. Friday in Huron County Courthouse, 250 E. Huron Ave., Bad Axe.
Also, some of the details are still being worked out, but the plan is to bring the Wolverine Exhibit to Tuscola County in July.
According to Ryan Mitchell, the communications director for State Senator Mike Green, there is a statewide demand for the exhibit, and plans are to bring it to the Capitol building late 2012 or early 2013.
