For the second time in less than a week, a distracted driver has been injured in a rollover crash in Tuscola County.
“Remember, distracted driving is as dangerous as drunk driving,” said Undersheriff Glen Skrent.
On Monday evening, deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a van that had rolled over several times on M-81, east of Caro, in Almer Township. The van, driven by Andrea Boyd, 17, of Cass City, was eastbound on M-81 when the accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. A vehicle traveling ahead of Boyd slowed to make a turn. Boyd told investigators she was on the phone and realized she could not stop in time. Her vehicle swerved and then went off the road, rolling over.
Mobile Medical Response transported Boyd to Caro Community Hospital.
