CHARLES FRANKLIN KLINESMITH, Caro

Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Caro Senior Commons, at the age of 73. He was born on Sept. 22, 1938 in Caro, the son of the late Charles L. and Bessie (Kauffman) Klinesmith. For more than 30 years, he was employed as a long haul semi-trailer truck driver, going all over North America. Charles was forced to retire in 1992 due to a medical condition. He moved from Idaho back to Caro and had lived here since. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his old car. Charles is survived by three sons, two daughters and their spouses, Timothy and Susan Klinesmith of Mayville, Jeff Klinesmith of Croswell, Charles Klinesmith of Saginaw, Beth Marie and Mike Valentine of Pigeon, Jari and James Mahoney of Armada; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Klinesmith of Arizona, Ray Klinesmith and his wife, Sharon of Millington; two sisters, Donna Rohleder of Caro, Elsie Stratton of Flint and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shelly Kay Klinesmith. In keeping with Mr. Klinesmith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro, with Pastor Michael Wester officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Caro.
