Memorial Day Events

The Memorial Day service in the village of Akron will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 28 at the Veterans’ Memorial in the village park off of M-128
The Caro VFW, VFW Ladies Auxilary and Mark Britton will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Wells Township East Dayton Cemetery, at M-46 and S. Hurds Corner Road.
The Cass City Memorial Day Parade will commence on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m.
Cass City VFW Post 3644, under the direction of Post Commander Joe Merchant, will hold a wreath laying ceremony at the War Memorial next to the Municipal Building at 9:45 a.m. The Memorial Day Parade will commence promptly at 10 a.m. and proceed east to the cemetery, where the VFW Post will conduct a Memorial Day Tribute.
The Memorial Day service in the village of Fairgrove will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 28, at the Veterans’ Memorial in Mulberry Park off of M-138.
The 73rd annual Grant Cemetery Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at the Grant Township Cemetary. The public is invited to attend.
American Legion Post 181 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10884 of Mayville will co-host Memorial Day services for the Mayville community Monday, May 28.
Services will begin with a parade featuring members of both the VFW and American Legion posts, other veterans and current members of the military, the Mayville High School marching band, scouts and other patriotic groups. All participants are asked to meet in the parking area between the Middle School and High School at 8:45 a.m. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., proceeding north on Fulton Street to Main Street, then west on Main to the Legion Hall.
Cemetery services will begin at the Fremont Township Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Rich Township Cemetery at 10:10 a.m. and the Watertown Township Cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Pastor Sam Reece of Mills Memorial Baptist Church will be the speaker at Fremont cemetery; Pastor Carole Brown of Mayville United Methodist Church will speak at Rich cemetery; and Pastor Kay Leitelt of Fostoria United Methodist Church will be the speaker at the Watertown cemetery.
Legionnaires and VFW members are asked to meet at the Mayville Legion Hall at 8:30A a.m. on Monday, to prepare for the parade and services.
The Village of Millington will have a Memorial Day parade beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday. The parade will conclude at the cemetery where a service will be held.
The Memorial Day parade in the village of Sebewaing will be 9 a.m. Monday, May 28, at the fire department parking lot go down Center Street to Muellerwise Park.
The Memorial Day parade in the village of Unionville will be 10:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Kemp Park, which is at the intersection of M-25 and M-24.
The parade will start at Staley Street and go to Kemp Park.

The Vassar Veterans Military Support Group will host a Memorial Day service beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar.
