Community asked to support local wounded soldier

Travis Mills

Vassar residents are asked to show their support for Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, a 2005 Vassar High School graduate who lost his arms and legs Monday after stepping on an IED while on duty in Afghanistan.
As of Thursday, Mills was in critical condition in a hospital in Germany.
Volunteers will meet at 5 p.m. Friday by the fountain on Huron Avenue in downtown Vassar to tie ribbons as a show of support for Mills and his family. He and his wife Kelsey have a four-month-old daughter. Travis Mills is the son of Dennis and Cheri Mills of Vassar.
