Brigitte T. Adams of Caro, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Brigitte was born April 13, 1931, in Oberhausen-Sterkrade, Germany, the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Katharina (Engels) Jager. Brigitte was united in marriage with Cecil Lee Adams on December 21, 1962, while he was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. They came to America through Ellis Island on Halloween of 1963. Cecil preceded her in death on October 29, 2019. Brigitte loved playing bingo, doing “Word Search,” watching her birds and cats, and working in the garden. Music was important to her as she frequented Frankenmuth to remember her heritage. Brigitte loved listening to polkas and watching Lawrence Welk.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters and their spouses: Marion and Eddie Wiggins of Caro, Michel and Mark Johnson of Caro; she was Oma to four grandchildren: Ashley “Jeanie” Johnson of Caro, Sasha Johnson of Caro, Alexis Adams of Deltona, Florida, Cory Wilczak of Marlette; and one great-granddaughter, Alana. In addition to her parents and husband, Brigitte was preceded in death by one son, Aaron Erik Adams; one sister and three brothers.

In keeping with Brigitte’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Caro Moose Lodge starting with a Women of the Moose service at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Adams Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Marion Wiggins, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
