Jane L. Babcock of Caro, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Covenant Health Care – Harrison in Saginaw. Jane was born January 11,1939, in Caro, the daughter of the late Vernon and Madge (Emery) Hack. On August 17, 1957, Jane Hack and George Babcock were united in marriage at Caro First Baptist Church. Jane, a homemaker at heart, enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren, fishing, camping and the holidays. Although all holidays were important, Christmas was her favorite and included a second favorite activity, shopping, that allowed her to share her excitement with others.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George “Sonny” Babcock; four children and their spouses: Susan and Wayne Sayers, Timothy Babcock, Laura and Loren Ames, Randy and Lisa Babcock all of Caro; ten grandchildren: Sondra, Katie, Bobby, Joyce, Ruth, Clarissa, Joseph, Nate, Garrett, Corey and Ethan; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters and their spouses: Marie and Gary Hazen, Maxine Krabbe, RuthAnn Babcock; and many nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Donald, James “Pete”, Paul and infant brother, Billy Hack; and a brother-in-law, Jim Babcock.
In keeping with Jane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Diabetes Lions 11D-1 in memory of Jane.
