Mary M. Alvord, age 84, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday October 2, 2019. Mary was born on January 25, 1935, to William and Madalene Winiarski. Mary married the love of her life Wilfred Alvord on September 29, 1951. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage and had nine children. Mary worked for 20 years at Millington High School as a teacher aid. She loved serving in her church and helping in the community. She was a part of the Red Hats Society.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Wilfred Alvord; seven children: Mary Jo Datz, Melodee (John) Hauger, Malinda (David) Wells, William (Melanie) Alvord, Maxine (Greg) Alvord, Bob (Angel) Alvord, and Brad Alvord; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Wilfred (Bud) L. Alvord II and daughter, Maureen Alvord; son-in-law, David Datz; and brother, L.J. Winiarski.  

The Alvord family was present to receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. The Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville with burial to follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Funeral Mass and cemetery prayer by Fr. Steve Makranyi. Following the service, there will be a dinner at the Otisville Senior Center.
