Fred raised his five children with the help of his parents, Mike and Susie Singer, after the loss of his wife, Clara. He was a special man. Fred served in the Korean War with the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed many things in life. In the early years, he enjoyed playing softball, deer hunting and bowling. He enjoyed watching ball games, especially the Detroit Tigers. He loved spending time with his family telling stories about the olden days. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always making us laugh. He really enjoyed the outdoors and watching his birds, feeding all that came to visit. He enjoyed watching his son out in the fields planting and especially at harvest time. He liked to drive around and check out how all the crops were growing. He was a farmer right until the very end, heart, mind and soul. Music was a big part of his life, listening to Slovenian polkas and Frankie Yankovic was a true joy to him. “Freddie” as many called him, was loved by all who met him. He will be sadly missed my many.

At the request of Fred, cremation has taken place. Those wishing to send a memorial donation may contact Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The family has asked to donors to consider the United States Disabled Veterans Association.
