Sally Ann Joles of Akron, age 87, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Carey’s Young at Heart AFC Home in Caro. Sally was born January 8, 1932, in Fairgrove, the daughter of the late Earl and Laura (Fitchett) Randall. Sally’s mother died when she was a young girl, and was raised by her step-mother, Mildred (Sharp) Randall. She graduated from Fairgrove High School with the class of 1950. Sally was united in marriage with Dougal Joles for over 55 years before his death in 2009. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Caro and liked traveling, gardening and canning. She also possessed a natural talent for art and enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, playing piano, and baking wedding cakes.
Sally is survived by five children and their spouses: Laura and Gary Anderson of Caro, Mark and Judy Joles of Monroe, Kathy and Mike Hall of Fairgrove, Larry and Tammy Joles of Akron, Randy and Linda Joles of Caro; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Benish of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. A private burial at the Wisner Township Cemetery will be held at a later time. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Cass River Pet Friendz or the Caro Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
