Rudolph “Rudy” Fader

Rudolph “Rudy” Fader of Caro, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro, following a lingering illness. Rudy was born July 13, 1931, in Caro, the son of the late Jeffery and Beatrice (Gostick) Fader. He was united in marriage with the former Ruby Montague on October 20, 1951, in Caro. Ruby preceded him in death December 4, 2015. Rudy dedicated his entire life to working as an automobile mechanic, retiring in 1996 from Pat Curtis Chevrolet in Caro. He was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, obtaining the degree of Fellow, and was named Moose Member of the Year in 2005. Rudy enjoyed camping, fishing and watching wildlife. Rudy’s greatest legacy remains with his beloved grandchildren who could convince him to do practically anything.
Rudy is survived by two children and their spouses: Randy and Robin Fader of Caro, Cindy and Jim Spencer of Caro; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Wilma Clink of Riverside, California; two sisters-in-law: Rose Fader of Caro, Sheila Montague of Vassar; one brother-in-law, Ron Gibbs of Caro; special friends, Shirley and Dick Jeffery of Vassar; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Rudy was preceded in death by two brothers: Lee and Dick Fader; two sisters: Virginia Gibbs and Rebecca Frank.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Kim Frank officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Tuscola County Medical Care Community or the Alzheimer’s Association.
