Harold Henry “H” Avery III of Caro, formerly of Reese, age 56, died unexpectedly, Friday evening December 28, 2018 at McLaren Caro Region Hospital. He was born December 22, 1962, in Cass City, son of Harold Henry Avery Jr. of Reese and the late Dorothy Ann (Adams) Avery. Harold was a 1981 graduate of Reese High School. On September 14, 1985, he married the former Kelly Krapohl in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Unionville. He was employed as a Sales Representative with Janson Equipment Company in Reese since 1991. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. “H” was a loving grandfather to his four grandchildren whom affectionately called him “Papa Bear.” His favorite pastime was fishing, and he enjoyed spending time playing golf and mowing his immaculate lawn.
“H” is survived by his wife Kelly and his father Harold Jr., as well as his children: Ryan Avery of Greenville, South Carolina; Jessica Brink and her husband Tyler of Munger; and Megan Marn and her husband Kevin of Rockford; four grandchildren: Ayla, Molly, and Lydia Brink and Sage Marn, and Noah Marn to be born in January of 2019. Also surviving are one brother and four sisters and their spouses: Steve and Lisa Avery of Freeland; Lisa and Doug Wark, Tammy and Paul Heinlein, and Angie and Matt Sahr, all of Reese, and Kim and George Voelker of Saginaw; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Dr. Ed Kloos will officiate with private family burial to take place later in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Reese. Harold’s family received friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw St. in Reese on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Avery family to be passed on to causes H held dear.
