Lee Delbert Schrader of Houghton Lake, age 87, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital.
Lee was born on June 22, 1931, in Caro to Cyril and Edith (Warren) Schrader. He grew up in the Caro area and graduated from Caro High School. Lee served as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Wildlife Researcher for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for many years. He was married on June 11, 1955, in Caro to Eldonna Marie Evans. The couple moved to the Houghton Lake area from Bath in 1970. Lee enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed antiquing. He had an antique business and an extensive collection of antique bottles. His true love was spending time with his family.
Surviving Mr. Schrader are his son, Mark (Tina) Schrader of Bellaire; two daughters: Mary (Dave) Martin of Manton and Wendy (Shawn) Gray of Harbor Springs; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eldonna Marie Schrader; sister, Eva Maxim; two brothers: Wayne Schrader and Charles Schrader.
Funeral Services for Lee Delbert Schrader will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2018, from Christler Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial Contributions in memory of Lee are asked to be directed St. Jude Children Hospitals. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
