Norma K. Berry of Caro, age 72, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at McLaren – Bay Region in Bay City. Norma was born January 23, 1946, in Pontiac, the daughter of the late Norman and Lucy (Mignone) Tank. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1964 and was united in marriage shortly after to Robert L. Berry on June 27, 1964. For a brief time, Norma was an operator for the W. J. Moore Telephone Company in Caro until devoting her time to raising her daughters. She later began a career as a real estate agent in Caro that would span over 30 years, most recently with Kelly & Company Realty. Norma was a member of St. Christopher Parish in Caro and served as a life-member and chaplain for the Caro V.F.W. Auxiliary and member of the Polish American Club in Caro. She enjoyed accompanying her husband for over 30 years singing classic songs around the area. Norma honored veterans, MIA and POWs in several area parades while riding in the “Veteran’s Thunder” vehicle with her husband, Bob. She was most at peace in nature and enjoyed walking outdoors and gardening.
Norma is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Berry of Caro; two daughters, Amber Berry of Bay City, Alyse Berry of San Francisco, California; two grandchildren, Lance and Zora; three siblings and their spouses, Dennis and Jane Tank of Brooksville, Florida, Ann (Tank Hess) and Charles Hosey of Panama City Beach, Florida, Denise (Tank) and Robert Clavette of Louisville, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. The family received friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. There was a V.F.W. Auxiliary service Thursday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice.
