Alene (Boughan) Hartley of Cass City, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at McLaren – Bay Region in Bay City. Alene was born February 1, 1946 in Methuen, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Alexander and Irene Dyleski. She was united in marriage with Harold “Buck” Hartley on August 21, 2003 at the Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Buck preceded her in death earlier this year on January 27, 2018. Alene was employed as an administrative assistant and an over-the-road truck driver. She loved NASCAR, watching WWE, and her pets.
She is survived by three children and their spouses: Wendy and Michael Tomaselli of Salem, New Hampshire, Timothy and Joan Puchtler of Sunapee, New Hampshire, Christine Puchtler of Cass City; step-daughter, Krista Hartley of Cass City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Attorney Debra Dyleski-Najjar and husband, Elie, of North Andover, Massachusetts; one niece and one nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John Boughan and Harold “Buck” Hartley; one son, Eric Puchtler; and one step-son, Bruce Hartley.
In keeping with Alene’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Alene Hartley Family Discretionary Fund, c/o 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
