Dean A. Carpenter, Jr.

Dean A. Carpenter, Jr. of Caro, age 32, died as the result of a tragic automobile accident on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Reese. Dean was born October 30, 1985 in Hampton, Virginia, the son of Dean A., Sr. and Nancy (Depcinski) Carpenter. He was a graduate of Caro High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Saginaw Valley State University. Dean loved going on adventures with family which included spending as much time outdoors as possible and being by the water. He was a faithful member of the Mutual Unidentified Flying Objects Network (MUFON), loved music, collecting books, CDs, and records, and attending concerts. Dean’s sensitive nature was displayed through care for others more than himself and wanting to show his inner-self by writing a book in the future.

Dean is survived by his parents, Dean A., Sr. and Nancy Carpenter, of Caro; one sister and her husband, Jessica and Zachary Garlick of Mayville; two brothers: Michael of Washington, D.C. and Timothy of Redmond, Washington; maternal grandmother, Rita Depcinski of Bad Axe; paternal grandparents, Donald and Carolyn Carpenter of Caro; many aunts, uncles, and cousins and his cat, Kiki. Dean was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Depcinski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Jerzy Dobosz officiating. In keeping with Dean’s wishes cremation will follow. The family were present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Dean Carpenter, Jr. Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Nancy Carpenter, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
