Pamela Rose Sapien of Watrousville, age 66, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at her home. Pam was born June 3, 1952 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Manuel Joseph and Theresa Isabella (Austin) Sapien and was a 1971 graduate of Caro High School. Pam volunteered for many years at the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Second Chance Store and later at Goodwill Industries, both in Caro. Her life revolved around family and she adored her many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews, whom she helped to raise. She also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and horses, and raised Doberman Pinschers for several years. Pam will be remembered for her unmatched talents in cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and crocheting.
Pam is survived by four siblings and their spouses, Frederick and Lily Sapien of Arizona, Patrick A. Sapien of Virginia, Manuel James Sapien of Caro, Robert and Betty Sapien of Watrousville; and many special nieces and nephews that she loved and cared for as her own. In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by one brother and sister, John “Jack” Sapien and Carmen C. Pettengill; and niece, Terri Sapien.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Dr. Bill Sanders officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Juniata Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Cass River Pet Friendz.
