Keith E. “Bill” Warren

Keith E. “Bill” Warren of Caro, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Vadavilla Adult Foster Care in Unionville. Bill was born January 11, 1931 in Wahjamega, the son of the late Vere and Mary (Thorp) Warren. He was united in marriage with the former Shirley Stone on November 28, 1959, and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2016. Bill was a graduate of Caro High School, and went on to work at the Tuscola County Road Commission, retiring in March of 1993 after more than 30 years of employment. He was a life member of the Caro Moose Lodge and the Caro United Methodist Church. Bill loved going “up north,” traveling, gardening, driving his Farmall Cub, and going for ice cream. He enjoyed bowling three days a week, playing Euchre, and in younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Most important to Bill, however, was spending time with family.

Bill is survived by two daughters, June Murray of East Lansing, and Diane Swank and her husband, Michael, of Bay City; six grandchildren, Atasha and Brian Johnson, Holly and Matt Kuras, Kirk Sugden, Chelsea Swank and Cory Wise, Brian Murray and Kevin Murray; three great-grandchildren, Carson Johnson, Zoey and Benjamin Kuras; two sisters, Beverly Smith and Barbara Ward, both of Caro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by one son, Michael Allen Warren; one sister, June Warren; and one brother, Warren “Chum” Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Watrousville United Methodist Church with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation will follow the funeral. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Wahjamega Cemetery.
