I stopped by for the championship contests at Frankenmuth while I was able to get updates from news writer Courtney Rabideau as she was in Bad Axe.

SOFTBALL
Division 3 at Frankenmuth
Frankenmuth d. LakeVille
Vassar 4, Mayville 1
Championship: Frankenmuth 5, Vassar 0
- Eagles top Vulcans for third time this season as Heather Schultz pitches a no-hitter. Game was delayed a bit because of rain, but the Eagles had already done the damage needed, scoring three in the fifth.

Division 3 at Bad Axe
USA 9, Reese 3
Cass City 12, Laker 0
Championship: USA 15, Cass City 0
- Champions again. The Patriots disposed of their biggest two GTW rivals en route to the title. They will now head to Reese next Saturday to look for another regional title

BASEBALL
Division 3 at Frankenmuth
Mayville d. Vassar
Frankenmuth d. LakeVille
Championship: Frankenmuth 3, Mayville 1
- Eagle break up early 1-1 tie off Mayville starter Josh Lugowski with a sac fly in the fourth and an insurance run in the sixth. Mayville didn't help themselves much by swinging at early pitches and not getting key hits with runners in scoring position.
