Tonight while watching American Idol, my little Maddie Rose must have done a cartwheel. I’m not sure whether it was one of the performers that got her so excited or the fact that I downed a glass of apple juice in under a minute, followed up by a bowl of kiwi fruit.
Either way, it was almost painful and followed up by some shimmy –shakes and “aftershocks.”
What I find most interesting about this phase of pregnancy is that she is starting to get a little predictable. In the morning, she’s somewhat active until I eat, and then she seems to settle down while I get ready for work.
Shortly before noon, she pokes, jabs and kicks. After that, she’s calms until about 3 or 4 p.m. The kick-fest starts all over again.
There are times when I think (I worry) that she’s not moving enough. Usually as soon as I Google it or search through one of my books, I get a right and then a left or a direct kick to the bladder.
It’s a rare occasion when I can get Aaron over to my side quick enough to feel her give my gut a big wallop. It seems that about 99% of the time, she stops as soon as he puts his hand to my tummy. I’m hoping as she gets more active, the odds will increase in his favor.
Until then, I guess it’s our own little secret time together… It’s just Maddie and me for now!
