Home Improvements

The "Cookie Jar" household is about to embark on some home improvements.

We purchased our home about 2 years ago. We got a deal we could not pass up when we bought our home, however it is very outdated. Lime green carpet, wallpaper that matches, wood paneling, and pale pink fixtures in the bathroom. Unlike most outdated homes everything in ours looks like it is brand new. The carpet is still fluffy, everything works well.

Up until this summer the only home improvements we have had time to do is scrape the wallpaper (all 6 layers, including the ceiling) off our boys room and paint that along with our front porch.

So far this summer we have successfully landscaped our yard and I some how have managed to keep everything alive.

This weekend we are planning on building a new storage shed. I have never built a shed in my life but I have faith in my fiance that he will not steer me wrong and by Sunday night we will have a new storage shed.

Wish me luck and look back next week for some photos and hopefully a success story.

I wish I could tell you the shed turned out great, but due to the large threat of rain we held of the shed building. I did however still manage to cut my finger pretty good with a butter knife. In my eyes it was the worst cut ever, in the eyes of other it was just a small cut. But it was bad enough for me to sweet talk others into doing the dishes for me :)

Good luck!! I can't wait till I buy a house. Renting is such a waste of money. Just throwing it away... How did the shed turn out?
