Amy Joles is the editor of the Tuscola County Advertiser. She started as a staff writer with the Advertiser in 2002 after receiving a journalism degree from Central Michigan University. In 2003, she began writing for the Advertiser’s newest editorial publication, the Reese Reporter. Joles is an award winning journalist, earning several Michigan Press Association awards for breaking news, investigative reporting, feature writing and photography. Joles was a statewide finalist in 2003 and 2005 for the Michigan Press Association Young Reporter of the Year Award. In 2007, Joles earned the Jim Neubacher Media Award, an honor bestowed by the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards. This honor is awarded annually to an individual or media organization who demonstrates responsible reporting or otherwise shows sensitivity to the issues and concerns of recipients of mental health services and the public mental health system. Joles resides in the Caro area with her husband Aaron and daughter Madeline.
