Died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the age of 88. She was born Oct. 11, 1921 in Imlay City, daughter of David and Edith (Ferrett) Shepherd. She married Rev. Charles F. Kitchenmaster on Oct. 12, 1940 in Lapeer. Mrs. Kitchenmaster was a fantastic minister’s wife; a very giving woman who kept in touch with many church family members. She was a loving mother, whom the family could count on for knowing what everyone in the family was up to - she “kept track of the family.” Survivors include children, Dean (Helen) Kitchenmaster of Perry, Sherry LeBlanc of Caro, Gretchen (Scott) Harris of Fenton, Fred (Jane) Kitchenmaster of Hartland; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Shepherd of Imlay City and Grace Bush of Bay City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles F. Kitchenmaster; son-in-law, Mark LeBlanc; her parents and brothers, Robert and Kenneth Shepherd. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Rev. Jerome Smith will officiate, with burial in Deerfield Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
