1915 - 2008

Died early Saturday morning, June 28, 2008 at his home, at the age of 92. He was born Aug. 24, 1915 in Bay City, son of the late Felix and Eugenia (Kakhoven) Hellebuyck.

He was united in marriage on Oct. 26, 1940 to the former Margaret M. Blondell. She predeceased him on Oct. 12, 1994.

Bill had been employed with the Tuscola County Road Commission, retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, fishing and gardening.

Surviving are his children, Edward and Bonnie Hellebuyck of Essexville, Rose and Herb Stedry and Judy Lucynski, all of Reese; grandchildren, David, Bill and Tammy Lucynski, Mark and Stephanie Hellebuyck, Karen and Mark Casault, Scott and Kristi Stedry, Sheila and Tom Garrow; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Julia DeSimpelaere of Unionville.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Lucynski and eight brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2 from St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Father Bill Gruden will officiate, with burial in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Bill’s family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
