SEBEWAING — A two-vehicle accident at about 3:17 p.m. Thursday in front of the Unionville-Sebewaing Area School sent five people to the hospital.

According to Brian McComb, Michigan State police trooper, Patricia Seibel, 54, of Sebewaing was traveling northbound on M-25 before turning left on to Wildner Road.

Seibel’s 1998 Chevy Lumina then collided with a 2000 Chevy Cavalier traveling southbound on M-25 driven by Joseph Dinsmoore, 25, of Essexville.

The accident report indicates Seibel did not see the other vehicle when she turned, and was not wearing a seat belt.

Seibel and her three grandchildren, who were passengers in the vehicle, were injured. Seibel was transported by Sebewaing EMS to Scheurer Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Her grandchildren Nicholas Ohare, 3, Abby Ohare, 7, and Jacob Ohare, 10, all of Sebewaing, were transported by ACW Ambulance to Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon for treatment of minor injuries.

Dinsmoore, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by Sebewaing EMS to Scheurer Hospital. His condition is unknown as of press time.

“Seibel was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way,” said McComb.

Others that assisted at the scene were the Huron County Sheriff’s Department, Sebewaing Police Department, and Sebewaing Fire Department. Also, a nurse who works for Covenant Hospital, and a nurse who works for Scheurer Hos-pital stopped to help out.
