MILLINGTON — After watching Marlette get trounced by Ubly in Week 3, the Prophets were in dire need of seeing a good, close football game. One that for sure, would not be a blowout. And as the Prophets sit around the Prophetmobile, everyone throws out opinions as to where they should travel for Week 4.
"Well, money is kind of tight," Chris said. "We could just stay an extra week here in Marlette with Reese coming to town."
But as looks of disgust quickly came over the Prophets face, Chris could tell that would not be happening.
"Okay, I guess one week in Marlette is enough," he said. "Well then, what are your bright ideas?"
"Well, Bay City All Saints travels to Vassar this week," Derek said. "That should be a good one."
"Or there is the historical rivalry between Akron-Fairgrove and Owen-Gage this week," said Superfan. "I'll admit, this eight-man football has got me kind of curious."
"I think Caro has another interesting game ahead of them," Tim said as he is laying on the hood of the Prophetmobile. "The Tigers need to bounce back, and I want to know if Boydston and the boys have it in them."
"Or, we could travel to Millington and pay our respects to Coach Furno for earning his 200th career win," Chad said.
"You know what, that is a good idea," Christian said. "And, the rivalry game between the Cardinals and Eagles won't be bad either."
So as the Prophets took their Week 4 destination to a vote, it was unanimous, and they began to pack up for Millington.
As Derek, this week's leader, takes over the keys to the Prophetmobile, he gets a little dizzy.
"Do you guys know of anywhere good we can stop and eat between here and Millington," Derek said. "I'm not feeling so hot, and I think it's because I haven't ate in a while."
Then as Tim turns around from the passenger seat, he catches a whiff of a foul scent.
"I think I know why your not feeling so good Derek," Tim says. "It's because we haven't even left Marlette and Christian has his shoes off."
Join the Prophets next week as they discuss their destination for Week 4 and they try to get some long-overdue food."
