Prophets head for North Branch

OWENDALE — So, after the prophets got their fill of eight-man football, they hopped into the Prophetmobile to dry off and warm up after the cold and rain of Friday night.

"This weather is HORRIBLE!" shouts Chad. "I cannot believe we just stood outside and watched that game in what seemed like inches of mud and freezing temps."

"What you need to do, is suck it up," Christian says with a laugh. "It's football season, what do you expect? Plus, there are only two more weeks left in the regular season."

With the regular season coming to a close in just two weeks, the Prophets still have a list of places left to hit. But now it just comes down to which game is better?

Do they go to USA vs. Reese for the Sugar Bowl and possibly see the Rockets clinch a share of the GTW tite. Or, do they head to Cass City to watch the Vassar try to top the Vulcans' for their shot at the Conference title? Maybe, the Prophets scratch the GTW all together and head for an interesting Tri-Valley East match-up between North Branch and Millington. Either way, in Week 8, the Prophets cannot go wrong.

"We have to go to the Sugar Bowl this week," Superfan says. "It's such a fun game and always makes for an exciting atmosphere."

"You may be right, but how can we turn down the Millington vs. North Branch game?" Tim says. "We have yet to be to North Branch, and I'm willing to bet that this one will be a dandy!"

But then, the football discussion is broken up by snores from the back of the van. As the Prophets turn to see who is sleeping, Chris quickly laughs.

"Look at Derek back there, just snoring up a storm," Chris said. "He must be getting tired from all those early mornings on the radio and late nights at football games. But, he too, better suck it up. Not much longer and this will all be over with."

"Huh? What?" Derek says as he leans up and wipes his eyes. "Where are we? Are we in North Branch yet?"

"Well, I guess that settles it," Superfan says as he starts up the Prophetmobile. "North Branch, here we come!"

"I don't even know where North Branch is," Derek says. "But if it's anything like West Branch, I'm very interested. I stop there all the time on my way back up to visit my family in the U.P."

"HA!" Tim shouts. "Don't get your hopes up then. I'm just hoping for a good game!"
