CARO — The Caro Exchange Club has proudly awarded two local recipients with their annual American flag awards.
In honor of Flag Day, which is celebrated June 14 of this year, the Caro Exchange Club presented the 2009 Proudly We Hail awards to residential honoree Margaret Cockerill of Golfview Dr., in Caro and the Highland Pines School as the community/business award recipient.
“Each year, the Caro Exchange Club presents the Proudly We Hail award to honor those that fly the American flag throughout the year and display it properly with pride and respect,” said Ron Laeder, project chairperson for the Caro Exchange Club.
Two awards are presented each year; one to a community residence and one to a business or governmental unit.
Accepting for Highland Pines school were Paul and Deb Fuller and Dr. P.S. Kumar with his wife, Sudha Kumar.
The awards were presented by Caro Exchange Club President Diane Kueffner at the Club’s dinner meeting on June 10 at the Brentwood Restaurant.
