KINDE — Caro High School pitchers Cortney Ellis and Vanessa Taylor each acheived a milestone last week.
Ellis, a junior, fanned 12 North Huron Warriors in a 17-1 win to reach 600 career varsity strikeouts while Taylor, a sophomore, did not allow a hit and struck out 12 as well in the 3-0 nightcap win.
In game 1, Ellis also tripled had four RBI while Katie Bertrand added a double and four RBI of her own.
Hannah Dillon hit a two-run triple in the rout.
Andrea Henry knocked in a one-run double in the second game while Taylor singled in a run as well to help her cause.
Amanda Ellis singled and scored in the win while Tricia Petiprin hit a triple.

In Reese, the Rockets closed thier season with a pair of five-innings win to finish 31-3 in the regular season.
Abbey Harrington picked up both wins to raise her record to 23-2 with 14 shutouts.
She allowed one hit in the first game with six strikeouts and a walk and allowed one hit in the second game with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Leading hitters with two hits in the first game were Amy Kaufman (2 RBI), Jamie Humpert (RBI), Erika Squanda (double, 2 RBI), Danni Kern (RBI) and Alex Toma (RBI).
In the second game Harrington had three hits including a double and two RBI while Humpert added three hits and 3 RBI.
Jenna Lynch also added two doubles and an RBI.

In Fairgrove, the Cardinals swept the NCTL matchup to finish 9-9 in the league and 10-17 overall.
In the first game, Nicole Copeland doubled twice and added two RBI while Kristi Phillips had three hits.
Jodie LeClair added two hits in the win as well while Kayla Campbell struck out 10 on three hits.
In Game 2, Campbell got the win again, allowing three hits again and striking out eight.
Campbell added a double and an RBI while Copeland drove in two runs on two hits.
Phillips (2 hits) and Heather Adamczyk (3 hits) also led the KHS offense.
