TUSCOLA COUNTY -- Candidates for state and federal office have filed for a spot on the Tuesday, August 5 primary ballot.
Candidates that Tuscola County voters will weigh in on include the following:
*Indicates incumbents
U.S. Senator (6-year term)
* Carl Levin (D) of Southfield
Jack Hoogendyk Jr. (R) of Lansing
5th District Representative in Congress (2 year term)
* Dale E. Kildee (D) of Flint
Matt Sawicki (R) of Bay City
84th District State Representative
(2-year term)
* Terry L. Brown (D) of Pigeon
Daniel M. Baugher (R) of Kingston
Anna Kabot (R) of Deford
Kasie M. White (R) of Clio
71B District Judge of the District Court (6-year term)
* Kim D. Glaspie
Tuscola County Clerk Margie White-Cormier said townships are still turning in local candidate information for the August primary. The information was due Monday.
Ballot wording of county and local proposals must be presented to the county clerk by May 29. White-Cormier said several issues have trickled into the office so far.
