Internet adding to the power of prayer in Caro

CARO ‹ With added technology, the Caro Prayer Room hopes to include even more participants in their 24-hour event coming up June 27-28.

From 7 p.m.-7 p.m., the organization will be hosting 24 hours of prayer, which now includes a free live Internet broadcast for those who aren’t able to personally attend.

This will be the first time the technology is put in effect, so many can participate at work or even from the comforts of home.

The Prayer Room, located at 119 N. State St. in Caro, has hosted the 24-hour event once a month since last December. After watching a service streaming online from Florida, CPR leaders decided to implement the live broadcast in the community.

Those interested are still urged to personally attend the event. For all others, use the link www.ustream.tv/channel/caro-prayer-room to watch the event live. No log-in is necessary.

The site also includes a chat room feature where prayer requests can be left for those participating.

The actual event includes time for reflection, featuring a different prayer focus every hour. Participants can pray out loud or silently, at the different prayer stations or even in their seat.

Various worship leaders from Deford, Vassar and Caro will be on hand to offer their services.
