New housing community providing secure homes

MAYVILLE -- Senior housing and assisted living can be ominous words to those who want to remain in their own homes but, for health reasons, should not. Understanding how difficult that decision can be is something the owners of Autumn Acres Senior Village Community relate to. So they’re offering help.

"Our goal is to provide our residents with a safe and secure environment, and ensure care to those who need some assistance in order to maintain their independence," said Alan Ludwig, director of community development. "We offer not only attended care but flexible optional services that are very affordable."

Located at 322 Roller Way in Mayville, the 4 1/2-acre site accommodates duplexes designed with either two or three bedrooms, and full bathrooms, depending on your lifestyle choices.

"We design the style you’re looking for and the services you need," Ludwig explained,.

The site, currently undergoing some additional construction, will eventually hold four duplexes and eight homes in each of its complex units. Beginning this fall, a five-acre senior condominium community will be under construction.

"We recently began offering assisted living within the community," Ludwig said. "This is designed for those who need care 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

Residents will be able to enjoy social activities, including arts and crafts, games, road trips and outings, and much more. Residents will also have full access to the community center once it is completed.

Landscaped for maximum enjoyment, the area is filled with trees, pathways, and will eventually include a park.

"Along with 24-hour care givers, our residents enjoy daily housekeeping, laundry services, medication management and health monitoring as needed. And performed by visiting physicians, registered nurses and physical therapists," Ludwig said. "We’ll also have monthly in-home hairdressing and barber services."

Groundbreaking on the Senior Independent Living Community took place recently, and assisted care arrangements are under way now, according to Ludwig.

"We understand that each resident is an individual with different needs and preferences," Ludwig said. "That’s why we meet with our new residents regularly to ensure their happy."
