CARO -- Atwood Park has become a gathering spot for area residents to once again enjoy good music and fun.
More than 120 people came out to enjoy Music in the Park, a weekly summer event that began this Thursday.
“I think it was a great turnout for the night,” said Laura Stacer, Caro Recreation director. “We look forward to more people attending the next performances.”
Music in the Park, organized by the Village of Caro Parks & Recreation, is in its third year at Atwood Park, and program Director John Ecken said Thursday’s performance was the largest crowd they’ve had on their first day.
“Usually the first night we only get 60-70 and we’ve already had over 100,” said volunteer coordinator John Ecken. “This was a good turnout.
“We’re happy with it.”
Ecken has lined up all performances for the summer, running every Thursday until August 28.
For June 12, Ecken has Mike Saddleberg and Greg Planck lined up at 6:30 p.m., with Lawrence and Donna Probes to follow at 7:30 p.m.
On June 19, Joe and Megan Toft will be performing at 6:30 p.m., with Tom (Krause) and Bruce (Finnigan) set to perform at 7:30 p.m.

No performance will be held on July 3, however, due to the Fourth of July Weekend festivities.

On July 17, “Old Country” Joe Remsing, Bill Slaughter, Craig Sorenson will perform at 6:30 p.m. with John Patric Timko following up at 7:30 p.m.
