TUSCOLA COUNTY ‹ Schools around the area are gearing up for fall. Front doors are weeks away from being opened and much busy work is being done in preparation.
Ryle Kiser, principal of Reese High School, spoke for many area staff when he listed the various tasks to be completed before students start pouring in.
“Like everyone else in the surrounding school districts, we’re finishing scheduling, making sure the buildings are clean and doing minor maintenance wherever it’s needed,” he commented.
And with the football season beginning, still more preparation as far as fieldwork is being finalized.
Staff have started reacquainting themselves with the classrooms and are also completing their scheduling.
Across the board, area schools are welcoming students back on the same day: Sept. 2. These schools include Akron-Fairgrove, Caro, Cass City, Kingston, Mayville, Millington, Reese, Unionville-Sebewaing and Vassar.
