CARO ‹ Susan Walker, Chair of the Human Services Community EXPO, put it best: “With the economy as unstable as it is, many are struggling to find work and even struggling in the work they’re already doing. People need resources to help them through these times.”
Resources are exactly what the HSC EXPO is offering on Oct. 16 at the Colwood United Brethren in Christ Church from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The EXPO has been offered once in the past, with great success.
“The event is open to all human service agencies, non-profits, churches and civic groups who want to explain what services they offer to the public. Not only do vendors share their resources with each other, but the community can then come in and see what’s out there,” Walker said.
“It’s convenient because there are many agencies in one place for participants to ask questions and pick up applications.”
In the past, 72 agencies had tables at the event, including the Department of Human Services, Mental Health and the Human Development Commission, which also offered information on their housing and homelessness programs.
Any business or group wishing to participate in the event can purchase tables for $15 altogether.
