PARENTS CAN NOW BE INSTANTLY NOTIFIED OF EMERGENCIES,
SCHOOL CLOSINGS, DELAYS OR EARLY DISMISSAL.
Kingston Community Schools, in cooperation with the Tuscola County Advertiser, Mix 92.1 and www.tuscolatoday.com, is initiating new procedures for contacting parents and staff in the event of an emergency or school closing - the Kingston Community Schools e-Alert.
Within minutes, school officials can use e-Alert to deliver a single, clear message to students, parents, guardians and staff members by cell phone and/or e-mail. This system will be used to announce emergencies, delayed openings and school closings.
Members will be notified instantly if there is an emergency or if school is closed or will be dismissing early due to weather. A text message and/or an e-mail will be sent to all members.
How will the system work?
Parents and students become a member of www.tuscolatoday.com. When you become a member, sign up for the Kingston Community Schools e-alert system.
THIS IS A FREE SERVICE.
The system is Internet based, allowing family members to maintain a secure, password protected online profile. You can log into your profile at any time to update your contact information. Maintaining the accuracy of your profile will increase the ability of the school to keep you informed.
The protection of your personal information is very important to us. Our alert system will not be used by any organization other than Kingston Community Schools for the purpose of sending an emergency notice or school closing immediately.
Your online profile will enable you to:

Take advantage of all other features offered on the www.tuscolatoday.com.
The system will prompt you through the registration process. We encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity, as we will be utilizing this system for important school-to-home communication.
